WHAT IS OUTSIDE THE BOX?
OUTSIDE THE BOX is a brand new, cutting edge choice in quality theatrical education created by Off Broadway director JEREMY QUINN, the Tri-State area's foremost director and teacher of educational theatre. Also a theatrical production company that focuses on the re-invention of classic musical theatre as well as the production of new plays AND musicals that challenge the status quo; OTB fosters the development of new works and provides an opportunity for the unique collaboration between producers, directors, playwrights and actors to produce a more substantial, higher level quality of work.
OTB is revolutionary in much of its design and was established in response to the enormous demand and tremendous need for more accurate, technique-based, well-rounded arts education; both locally and across the United States. We seek to satisfy the very large gaps in quality theatrical education and to meet performers' needs that are not currently being met effectively by just being in one mediocre production after another. Our goal is to transform the way it gets done and provide opportunities that CAUSE performers to create the career they want, rather than just wishing, hoping, praying and waiting for it to happen. We don't sacrifice quality for quantity and focus on providing more individual attention, rather than churning out hordes of "wanna-be" performers who attend rehearsals as a social event.

We have a strong belief that “STARS” are created in every division and in order to succeed in the professional world, one must have a highly proficient understanding of what it takes to make every department run effectively. By choosing to educate our participants in this way, we create the possibility, for example, for a performer to also be trained in tech, stage management or production administration and a tech person to know what it’s like to act, write or direct; thereby giving them the foundation and the tools necessary to successfully build upon in the future. Even if someone has no desire to pursue a professional career in the entertainment industry, what we provide for everyone, is the opportunity to learn and grow as a well-rounded, interesting and productive human being who lives in a world of POSSIBILITY.
