ABOUT THE PLAY...

Emotionally exciting and genuinely passionate, LIGHTS and MUSIC written by Patrick C. Letterii, tests the resilience of a post 9/11 generation. The entangled lives of four disenfranchised youths play out through the humorous, surprising and shocking cirumstances that draw them together and pull them apart.

LIGHTS and MUSIC is about a lost generation growing up in a chaotic and sometimes hopeless world; struggling with love, friendship & the absurdity of life in their small apartment microcosm. The only thing protecting them from the outside world IS their apartment; but when the world comes to them, they are forced to make a difficult decision in order to discover their place in all of this.

With rapid-fire, intelligent dialogue that poses the eternal question, "Are the choices we're making, the right choices?";the play caters to the plight of struggling "20 somethings" at a time in their lives where everything is uncertain, but decisiveness is paramount. In a labyrinth of choices and illusions; crisp and seductive language draws us in, exposing the truth and its evasions - keeping us guessing from start to finish, how this story of love, sex, friendship and betrayal will finally reach the end.

Originally workshopped at The Producers Club in NYC in January of 2008, "L & M" was OTB's first producing venture before it was picked up for an OFF BROADWAY run in the summer of 2008. After some rewrites, a couple cast changes and a whole lot of fundraising, LIGHTS and MUSIC opened on July 22, 2008 at the 45th Street Theatre in NYC.
